The development of Graphi's pediatric growth charts seeks to address a recognized need from pediatric practitioners to enhance communication with caregivers and improve the interpretability of growth data. This initiative aims to facilitate better understanding of growth trajectories, ultimately contributing to improved family well-being.
The growth charts for children and adolescents with atypical development in the Standard group are grounded in well-established growth standards published by the World Health Organization (WHO). The data encompass weight-for-age, height-for-age, Body Mass Index (BMI)-for-age, and head circumference-for-age tables derived from publications in 2006 and 2007 by WHO. Additionally, blood pressure references for this group are based on guidelines outlined in the 2017 article “Clinical Practice Guideline for Screening and Management of High Blood Pressure in Children and Adolescents” published in Pediatrics.
For pediatric patients with Down Syndrome, the growth charts provided within the application are adapted from growth pattern data published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The datasets include weight-for-age, height-for-age, and head circumference-for-age tables published in 2015 within the CDC’s Pediatrics journal.
The graphs designed for preterm infants are based on data from the INTERGROWTH-21st study. This data encompasses weight-for-gestational age, length-for-gestational age, and head circumference-for-gestational age tables, which were published in The Lancet in 2015.
